Deadly Virus

There is a dangerous virus being passed around electronically, orally, and by hand. This virus is called Worm-Overload-Recreational-Killer (WORK).

If you receive WORK from any of your colleagues, your boss, or anyone else via any means DO NOT TOUCH IT. This virus will wipe out your private life completely.

If you should come into contact with WORK put your jacket on and take two good friends to the nearest grocery store. Purchase the antidote known as Work-Isolating-Neutralizer-Extract (WINE) or Bothersome-Employer-Elimination-Rebooter (BEER). Take the antidote repeatedly until WORK has been completely eliminated from your system.

Honor your feelings!

March is always a long month for me. March 20th was the birth and death of a child. It was 32 years ago, yet there is no way for such an event to leave you who you were. It's all part of my story. To all of the women whose babies have died, of course all of them wish life had unfolded differently, but none wished that they hadn't carried, loved and birthed those children.

It's hard to deal with grief. We all so want to help and there is really nothing to do. I feel that I am dealing very normally, then March comes again. I honor my child, I honor my grief and I hope that every woman that has lost a child can honor their feelings.

Please know that if any of us could absorb your pain for you, we would with an extraordinary combination of complete sympathy and complete comprehension.

Laugh ...... Laugh

A man goes into a pet shop to buy a parrot. The shop owner points to three identical looking parrots on a perch and says, "the parrot on the left costs 500 dollars".

"Why does the parrot cost so much," asks the man.
The shop owner says, "well, the parrot knows how to use a computer".

The man then asks about the next parrot to be told that this one costs 1,000 dollars because it can do everything the other parrot can do plus it knows how to use the UNIX operating system.

Naturally, the increasingly startled man asks about the third parrot to be told that it costs 2,000 dollars. Needless to say this begs the question, "What can it do?"

To which the shop owner replies, "to be honest I have never seen it do a thing, but the other two call him boss!"

SAD News

We got a call from Robin that they had taken Aunt Ernestine to the hospital and that she died Saturday night. I am so glad that God gave mom and her sister the opportunity to see each other one last time. The timing was beyond belief. Makes me believe in a high power!

The definition of bittersweet! More Pics

Our prayers go out to Aunt Ernestine's family and friends. Especially Uncle Bob. He will be so lost without her. She will be missed.

Back from Albuquerque

We made it home.
It was a terrific visit with my Aunt Ernestine and Uncle Bob. Mom really enjoyed the time she got to spend with her sister. My cousins were there and we had a wonderful time. We had beautiful weather on the way out, but it snowed on us most of the way home. The temperatures never got above freezing but it made for a long day. We set the cruise control and just made our way home.

My Uncle Bob said "That his 3 1/2 years in Prison camp in World War II was a piece of cake next to getting old!"

Holi March 11, 2009

Holi is commonly referred to as the "Festival of Colors" got its name from Lord Krishna, a re-incarnation of Lord Vishnu, who liked to play pranks on the village girls by drenching them in water and colors. People exuberantly throw colored powder and water all over each other, have parties, and dance under water sprinklers. Bhang (a paste made from cannabis plants) is also traditionally consumed during the celebrations. On the eve of Holi people light bonfires to mark the occasion and ward of evil spirits. Holi is a very carefree festival that's great fun to participate in if you don’t mind getting wet and dirty.

The festival marks the end of winter and the abundance of the upcoming spring harvest season.

Holi is celebrated the day after the full moon in March each year. In 2009, Holi will be celebrated on March 11.

How is Holi Celebrated:
People spend the day smearing colored powder all over each other's faces, throwing colored water at each other, having parties, and dancing under water sprinklers. Bhang (a paste made from cannabis plants) is also traditionally consumed during the celebrations.

What to Expect During Holi:
Holi is a very carefree festival that’s great fun to participate in if you don’t mind getting wet and dirty. You'll end up saturated in water, with color all over your skin and clothes. Some of it doesn't wash out easily, so be sure to wear old clothes. It's also a good idea to rub hair oil or coconut oil into your skin beforehand, to prevent the color from absorbing.

Great Weekend

I had a great weekend with my grand kids and daughter and son-in-law. It is amazing how much they grow in such a short amount of time. I kept Jessica and Jennifer Friday night and enjoyed Saturday morning with them. They took me to the Garber State Basketball game at the OKC fairgrounds. They had bad referees, but it was fun getting into the excitement of the basketball game. Then the whole family spent the night. I fixed breakfast and we enjoyed the morning. It was so sad to see them go. Back to the quiet of being alone.

Shoe Shopping

Mom has been wanting some new shoes. I got to Enid at 10:30 am and she had her list ready to go. I looked in the phone book for shoe stores in Enid. Not a very big town. So as we were going South to town she told me to go to Heritage Hills. When we arrived there was a darling little shoe store called "The Hutch". The sign said "Buy 1 get 2 pair FREE" Well that didn't apply to the shoes that Mom and I liked, of course, but we did manage to find a couple of pairs each, I guess I should say we narrowed our choices down to 2 pair. I am sure that I got my love of shoes from my mother.

One of Kati's teachers came into the shoe store, so I had to show her all of the pictures and tell her the good news of the 2 new little bundles of joy we are expecting in September.

Then we headed to Walmart to buy her some stuff for our trip to Albuquerque. It's going to be a road trip for just the two of us. Mom's sister has had another small stroke and we are going to Albuquerque to see her. It's an 8 hour drive and we will break it up into two days, so it wont be tiring on either of us.
